How to become an everyday Hero?
You lead your life with a vision to achieve greatness. But somewhere in the struggles and challenges of life, you get into a mode of a victim. This is what I call the Blame-Escape syndrome, where you blame the whole world for your inefficiencies and cocoon yourself into relegation that you cannot achieve greatness. This is a short article of how you can become the everyday hero for the world surrounding you.
I'm glad you decided to continue reading. What Im about to say is a simple behaviour shift needed to move from the Blame -Escape syndrome to becoming an Everyday hero
When you decide to take charge of your life there are 3 things you need to observe
1. How you negatively view things - There are a lot of presuppositions one has about life and how everything is either bad or impossible or self-sabotaging. In order to rise from mediocrity and become an everyday hero you need to observe how your negativity deters your will to perform at your peak
2. The "20% attempt and retract" behaviour - This is a big-big warning sign to keep track of. A lot of you out there are great at starting things, but 20% into the program and most you start feeling that the task is monumental and you cannot do it. Lets face it, changing a behaviour is tough and it requires effort, consistency and strong mental toughness to get through. The first 20% is the toughest phase where you can easily give up, whether its quitting smoking, junk food or anger. Look out for where you are quitting and see if you can pull through
3. The "Busy being Busy" escape route - A lot of us out there are busy being busy, and we just dont find time for the essential tasks of life. Like that gym you want to go everyday, but the netflix series is just too important.
In order to break the shackles of self mediocrity, you need to install new habits, habits that sustain for life and create a new reality for you.
But how to install new habits in your life. The answer is simple. Research suggests that if you continue religiously in a habit for 9 weeks, the habit STICKS
The first 3 weeks is struggle, the next 3 is a test of your temperament but the last 3 are magnificent and make life and incorporating that habit easier. The only simple thing is to follow through that habit and you would be surprised how easy it is to become an everyday hero.
